Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested Zahoor Ahmed of Utterpora, Tehsil Beerwah, District Budgam, who had been absconding for 15 years in a burglary case registered at Police Station Kanachak.
The accused was wanted in FIR number 06/2010 under sections 457 and 380 of the RPC. He had been evading arrest since the registration of the case in 2010.
Acting on reliable information, a team from Police Post Gajansoo, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kanachak, apprehended Zahoor Ahmed on November 25, 2025. He was produced before the court, where he was granted bail.
Police officials stated that the arrest demonstrates their commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure accountability, sending a clear message that absconders cannot escape justice indefinitely.
