BHADERWAH: The Charri Mubarak of the three-day annual Holy Kailash Yatra commenced today from the ancient Vasuki Nag Temple in Gatha, Bhaderwah, heading towards Kailash Kund.
Amid chants in praise of Lord Vasuki Nag, the Yatra passed through Bhaderwah town, where it was warmly received by DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal, MLA Dalip Singh Parihar, former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, SSP Sandeep Mehta, ADC Anil Kumar Thakur, ADC Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, ASP Vinod Sharma, CEO BDA Joginder Singh, the President of Sanatan Dharam Sabha, other tehsil officers, and a large gathering of locals.
This year, participation has been limited as a precautionary measure due to recent cloudbursts and adverse weather conditions in the region.
According to the schedule, after an overnight halt at Hayan (Nalthi), the Yatra will reach the sacred Kailash Dal on August 21, 2025, where devotees will take a holy dip and perform religious rituals. The return journey to Bhaderwah is planned for August 22, 2025.
The local administration has made extensive arrangements along the Yatra route, including deployment of medical teams with adequate medicines, provision of drinking water, generator-based electricity, firewood, tents for pilgrims, and robust security to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
