Hiranagar, Dec 03: To mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Government Degree College (GDC) Hiranagar organised a seminar highlighting the life, teachings, and supreme sacrifice of the ninth Sikh Guru. The event was attended by faculty members, students, and local dignitaries.
Speakers at the seminar recalled Guru Tegh Bahadur’s unparalleled contribution in defending the right to religious freedom and human dignity. They emphasized that his martyrdom in 1675 continues to inspire generations to uphold values of courage, sacrifice, and tolerance.
Principal of GDC Hiranagar, in his address, said that Guru Tegh Bahadur’s sacrifice was not only for the Sikh community but for the protection of humanity at large. He urged students to imbibe the Guru’s teachings in their daily lives and contribute positively to society.
Students also presented papers and reflections on Guru Tegh Bahadur’s philosophy, stressing the relevance of his message in contemporary times. The seminar concluded with a collective pledge to spread awareness about his legacy and promote communal harmony.
Authorities noted that the commemoration was part of a series of events being held across the Union Territory to honour the 350th Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, whose life remains a beacon of moral strength and spiritual resilience.
