PESHAWAR: At least four personnel of Pakistan’s paramilitary Frontier Constabulary were killed on Wednesday after unidentified gunmen opened fire in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said.

The attack took place in the Amn Kot Toi area of Karak district, where the assailants ambushed an FC vehicle and fired indiscriminately, resulting in the deaths of all four personnel on board.

Security forces and police quickly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the attackers.

A police official said the assault appeared to be premeditated, with the attackers lying in wait. So far, no group has claimed responsibility.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur strongly condemned the incident and ordered authorities to take swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
