SRINAGAR: Four security personnel were injured in overnight firing as the gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district entered its ninth day on Saturday, making it one of the longest anti-terror operations in the Valley, officials said.
Since the operation began, a total of 11 security personnel have been injured, they added. The operation is still underway, and further details are awaited.
So far, two terrorists have been killed in the encounter, which started on August 1 after security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in a forested area of Akhal in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, based on specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants.
