6.5 Crore Women Screened Through ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ Initiative: J P Nadda

New Delhi: Union Health Minister J P Nadda on Saturday announced that under the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ campaign, 6.5 crore women have been screened through nearly 18 lakh health camps across India. Terming it a “historic milestone,” Nadda said the initiative underscores the nation’s commitment to prioritizing women’s health, fostering stronger families, and building thriving communities.

In a post on X, he stated, “Launched on September 17 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the two-week-long #SwasthNariSashaktParivar Abhiyaan concluded on October 2, successfully screening 6 crore 50 lakh women through nearly 18 lakh health camps across the country. This remarkable achievement reflects the nation’s collective resolve to place women’s health at the heart of strong families and flourishing communities.”

Nadda urged citizens to sustain the campaign’s momentum by encouraging women to prioritize their health, undergo regular check-ups, and pave the way toward a healthier and empowered future.

According to the Health Ministry, during the campaign:

Over 1.78 crore people were screened for hypertension and 1.72 crore for diabetes.

More than 37 lakh women were screened for breast cancer, and over 19 lakh for cervical cancer.

Oral cancer screenings reached over 69 lakh individuals.

More than 62.6 lakh antenatal check-ups were conducted, and over 1.43 crore children received life-saving vaccines.

Over 1.51 crore people were screened for anemia, 85 lakh for tuberculosis, and 10.23 lakh for Sickle Cell Disease.

Nutrition counseling sessions reached 1.16 crore people, while 10.69 lakh Ni-kshay Mitras were registered.

The campaign also registered over 4.3 lakh blood donors and issued more than 10.69 lakh Ayushman/PM-JAY cards.
