POONCH: District Development Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial progress under the District Capex Budget for 2024-25. The meeting assessed the detailed status of the ongoing projects and initiatives.
Block Development Officers (BDOs) participated virtually, providing comprehensive updates on their respective block-wise works under the District Development Council (DDC), Block Development Council (BDC), and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI). They reported on constructed and unconstructed projects, as well as those deemed non-feasible.
During the discussions, the Deputy Commissioner asked BDOs to commence pending works promptly, urging them to increase expenditure to ensure projects are completed at the earliest. He also directed concerned officers to take necessary measures for timely execution, reinforcing the importance of maximizing fund utilization.
Executive Engineers provided detailed briefings on their respective projects to the Deputy Commissioner. Each engineer presented an overview of the progress, challenges, and future plans for their ongoing works. The discussions included an assessment of completed projects, as well as those currently in progress.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed executive engineers to optimize the allocated funds, enabling the completion of more projects within the set time frame.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Medical Superintendent, Executive Engineer of Ground Water, and Executive Engineers of PWD Surankote and Mendhar, who joined through virtual mode. Additionally, the Executive Engineer of PWD Poonch, Executive Engineer of JPDCL Poonch, Chief Executive Officer of the Municipality, and representatives from the Education and Sports Department, along with other concerned officers were also present.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner chaired another meeting to assess and dispose of permissions related to Change of Land Use (CLU) in the district.
After thorough deliberations, 3 cases were approved, 4 were reverted, 1 was rejected, and 2 cases were deferred for further consideration.
The DC stressed the need for timely issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to applicants after proper verification of their documents. He underscored the importance of adhering to established guidelines and policies in the evaluation of CLU cases, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the process.
The meeting was attended by ACR, DFO, Tehsildar Haveli, Executive Engineer JPDCL, Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), AEE PHE, Officers from GREF and other concerned officers.
