Sunderbani: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Indian Army organised a comprehensive self-defence training session for girl students at Government Senior Secondary School, Bajabain. The event aimed at equipping girl students with essential skills to protect themselves in times of adversity.
The initiative was designed to instill confidence, resilience and a sense of empowerment among young girls, aligning with the broader objective of promoting gender equality and safety. The training conducted by skilled army personnel, included practical demonstrations of self-defence techniques, situational awareness strategies and confidence building exercises.
The session also emphasized the importance of mental and physical strength in overcoming challenging situations. The interactive and dynamic nature of the training allowed the participants to actively engage, ask questions and practice the techniques under expert guidance. Speaking on the occasion, Mr BN Sharma, Principal of the government Senior Secondary school expressed gratitude to the Army personnel for their invaluable contribution and reiterated the importance of empowering young girls to ensure their safety and independence.
The event not only celebrated the spirit of womanhood but also highlighted the role of self-defence as a powerful tool for self-empowerment.
