Poonch:The Indian Army has reinforced its commitment to Ex-Servicemen (ESM) through enhanced engagement initiatives. This effort aims to recognize the contributions of veterans, ensure their welfare, and facilitate their smooth transition into civilian life. The Indian Army-ESM engagement initiative was conducted with 19 ESMs participating in the same. The focus was on supporting former personnel in securing employment, accessing welfare schemes, and staying connected with their regimental community. The initiative strengthens the bond between serving and retired personnel, ensuring that those who dedicated their lives to national security continue to receive the support they deserve. One of the key aspects of this initiative is employment and resettlement assistance. This helps veterans leverage their specialized skills. Additionally, welfare and pension assistance is a major focus area. Dedicated support channels have been established to streamline access to pension services, healthcare benefits, and financial aid, ensuring that ex-servicemen and their families receive the benefits they are entitled to. Furthermore, community engagement efforts such as regular meetings, welfare events, and networking sessions are being conducted to maintain a strong connection between Indian Army and its veterans.
