Rajouri: Indian Army organised training on welding for unemployed youth of Samote under National Skill Development Program. The training aimed at imparting vocational skills to enhance employability and promote self-reliance among local youth.
The training was scheduled for a duration of 50 days from 19 Jan 2025 to 09 Mar 2025 for 15 enthusiastic youths of nearby villages. The training curriculum included both the theoretical and practical aspects of welding, followed by on-the-job training and assessment by representatives of the National Skill Development Centre. A well-qualified and experienced instructor from MSME was engaged to ensure professional training in welding fundamentals.
This initiative by the Army has empowered the youth with essential skills, enabling them to seek employment opportunities and become self-sufficient. Upon successful completion of the training, participants were awarded certificates by Satyamave Jayate Charity Trust under National Skill Development Centre which is registered under Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
This skill development initiative is expected to have a significant impact on the lives of unemployed youth, equipping them with the necessary skills to secure employment. The cadre received an overwhelming response from the local community who expressed their gratitude towards the Army for taking this initiative and affirmed that they look forward to more such opportunities for skill development in the future.
