Kishtwar: Continuing its efforts to promote the welfare of people in remote and underserved regions, the Indian Army organized a comprehensive Medical and Veterinary Camp in the remote village Passarkot of Kishtwar district of Jammu & Kashmir on 16 Mar 2025.
The camp was conducted with the dual objective of addressing the pressing healthcare challenges faced by the remote community and ensuring the well-being of their livestock, which plays a vital role in sustaining their livelihood. The team comprising a Doctor, Nursing Assistants from the Indian Army along with the Doctors and healthcare professionals from the civil administration provided free consultations and health check-ups, essential medicines and nutritional supplements along with awareness about hygiene and preventive healthcare.
Veterinary specialists from district Veterinary Husbandry conducted animal health check-ups, vaccinations and deworming drives in addition to provision of valuable guidance on disease prevention and better animal husbandry practices. The camp benefitted 250 Locals and around 75 livestock, reflecting Indian Army’s commitment towards community service and holistic rural development.
The initiative has been widely appreciated by the local community, who face challenges in accessing healthcare services due to the remoteness of the region. This Medical and Veterinary Camp under Operation Sadbhavana is a testament to the Indian Army’s dedication towards enabling community welfare and their greater mission of fostering peace and harmony.
