Some women have claimed they were underage at the time of meeting the ‘Morbius’ and ‘Suicide Squad’ actor, who won an Oscar and Golden Globe for his performance in ‘Dallas Buyers Club’

Suicide Squad and Morbius star Jared Leto has been accused of sexual misconduct by several women. The actor, who won an Oscar and Golden Globe for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club, is said to have indulged in numerous instances of inappropriate behaviour, with some women claiming they were underage at the time of meeting the actor, in a report by Air Mail News.

According to the report, which published excerpts from interviews with nine women, Leto has demonstrated this behaviour over a decade. The upsetting allegations mentioned in the report include the actor exposing himself, asking sexually explicit questions, forcing the women to initiate inappropriate contact, and more. “It’s been an open secret for a long time,” said one woman.

Another woman, a model named Laura La Rue, said her first meeting with Leto happened in 2008, when she was 16, at an animal rights event. After corresponding for a while over email, she went to see him at his studio in 2009, where she alleged that he flirted with her, then 17, and later shocked her by walking out completely naked, “like it was normal,” as quoted in the report. “I thought maybe this was just what adult men do.”

A representative for Leto has denied to the outlet that the communications between the two “contain nothing sexual or inappropriate” and said La Rue had “later applied to work as Mr Leto’s personal assistant, further underscoring the absence of anything inappropriate in any of their interactions.”

La Rue, however, denied this ever happened.

Another woman alleged that Leto, who also happens to be the lead singer of the band Thirty Seconds to Mars, called her one night after meeting her at a cafe and spoke to her in a terrifying tone of voice, asking her intrusive questions about her sexual experiences. She was 16 at the time. The report also mentions another woman’s allegation that Leto exposed himself and began masturbating when she visited his home at age 18.

Leto’s representative has denied all the above allegations. The actor, however, is yet to respond.

Recently, DJ Allie Teilz reshared her 2012 post referring to the actor’s troubling behaviour as an Instagram story: “You’re not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… In a kilt.. And a snow hat. I was assaulted and traumatized by this creep when I was 17,” she wrote. “He knew my age and didn’t care. What he did was predatory, terrifying and unacceptable.”
