After the success of Raanjhanaa, the team has once again joined hands for another intense romantic drama film, Tere Ishk Mein.
Raanjhanaa, the Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor starrer romantic drama film, has earned a special place in viewers’ hearts, especially for its powerful portrayal of love, heartbreak and sacrifice. As the film completed 12 years of its release, the makers organised a special screening of the Aanand L Rai directorial in Mumbai last night for the fans, where several Bollywood and South celebrities marked their presence.
Taking to Instagram, production house Colour Yellow Productions shared a glimpse from the special screening and expressed their happiness as it turned out to be a houseful show. The video caption reads, “And it’s a Full House #WorldOfRaanjhanaa.” Sonam, too, re-shared the clip on her stories and joined the celebrations.
The screening was held at PVR Lido in Mumbai in the presence of the team Raanjhanaa, including Dhanush, director Aanand L Rai, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, lyricist Irshad Kamil, writer Himanshu Sharma and others. Joining in the celebration was actress Kriti Sanon, who will soon be sharing the screen with Dhanush in Tere Ishk Mein. However, Sonam, actress Swara Bhaskar and Abhay Deol, who were also a part of the film, gave the event a miss.
Set against the backdrop of Benaras, the film follows the story of Kundan (played by Dhanush), a young man who is deeply in love with his childhood crush Zoya (played by Sonam), who comes from a different background. Zoya initially rejects his feelings as she is already in love with Akram (Abhay Deol). The film delves into Kundan’s unrequited love and his journey through several stages of life, including his attempts to win Zoya’s heart and the nuances of their relationship.
The film is still loved by the audiences for its strong storytelling, powerful performances, especially Dhanush’s, and the iconic music by A.R. Rahman, such as the film’s Title track, Tum Tak and Banarasiya among others.
