Rs 31.5k realized in fines; documents of 8 vehicles retained, 4 blacklisted

BARAMULLA, An enforcement drive was conducted across various routes in Baramulla district today, covering multiple areas including Baramulla town, Government Medical College (GMC) road, Rafiabad, Chandoosa, Wagoora, Kalantra, and Puthkhah road.

The drive focused on checking documents, monitoring violations of the Motor Vehicles Act, and enforcing safety norms.

An amount of Rs.31,500 was realized in on-spot fines during the operation. In addition, documents of eight vehicles were retained for further verification, and four vehicles were blacklisted due to serious violations.

Speaking during the drive, ARTO said the objective was to enhance road safety and ensure strict adherence to traffic regulations. He added that such enforcement activities will continue regularly to deter violations and safeguard public life.

He urged drivers to follow traffic rules sincerely and to always keep their vehicle documents up to date, stressing that responsible driving is essential for ensuring safety on the roads.
