Poonch: As part of its ongoing commitment to serve remote communities and strengthen civil-military relations, the Indian Army conducted a Medical Patrol in the remote village of Nagalban, located in the Poonch District.
This initiative was aimed at providing essential medical care to underserved populations residing in border and far-flung areas where access to basic healthcare remains a challenge. During the patrol, Army medical personnel offered free medical consultations, distributed essential medicines, and spread awareness about preventive healthcare, personal hygiene, and common seasonal illnesses. Local villagers, especially elderly residents, women, and children, greatly benefitted from the timely intervention and compassionate care provided by the Army medical team.
Individual health concerns were addressed on the spot, while critical cases were guided for referral to nearby civil hospitals for further treatment. The effort was met with heartfelt appreciation from the local population, who expressed their gratitude for the Army’s dedication to their welfare. Such initiatives not only help in improving healthcare access in inaccessible regions but also further strengthen the enduring bond between the Indian Army and the people.
