Woman pilgrim killed, 3 injured in landslide; Amarnath Yatra death toll reaches 15

SRINAGAR: A woman pilgrim lost her life and three others were injured in a landslide along the Baltal route of the Amarnath Yatra in Ganderbal district on Wednesday, officials said.

According to officials, the incident occurred at Railpathri in the evening when four pilgrims were swept downhill by a landslide while en route to the holy cave.

The injured were immediately taken to the Baltal base camp hospital, where one of them — 55-year-old Sona Bai from Rajasthan — was declared dead on arrival.

With this incident, the death toll in this year’s Amarnath Yatra has reached 15.
