JAIPUR: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday asserted that a clear message has been sent to the world — any attempt to threaten India’s citizens, borders, or defence forces will face serious consequences.

Referring to Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Shah said the operation targeted and eliminated terrorist camps in Pakistan. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for significantly strengthening national security, contrasting it with the frequent terror attacks during Congress rule.

“When the Uri attack happened, the Modi government responded with a surgical strike. After Pulwama, an airstrike was carried out. And following the Pahalgam incident, Operation Sindoor was launched,” Shah said.

He emphasized that under Modi’s leadership, the vision of a secure, prosperous, and developed India is becoming a reality. India has now emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy, and 22 crore people have been lifted out of poverty, he told the gathering.

Praising Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Shah said the BJP government in the state has delivered significant progress in a short span. “The state was plagued by exam paper leaks. The formation of an SIT has sent a strong warning to the paper leak mafia,” he noted.

He added that Rajasthan signed investment MoUs worth ₹35 lakh crore at a recent summit, with projects worth ₹3 lakh crore already underway. The state government has also reduced VAT on petrol and diesel and effectively implemented various central schemes.

Shah also commended the contributions of the cooperative sector, describing the next century as the “era of cooperatives.” He highlighted that under Modi’s leadership, a dedicated Ministry of Cooperation was formed, and cooperatives now operate in 98% of rural India.

Over the past four years, the ministry launched 61 initiatives to bolster the sector. “We’ve begun creating two lakh new Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), with 40,000 already established. Computerization is complete, and all states have adopted the new model bylaws,” he said.

He further spoke about Rajasthan’s agricultural advancements, mentioning ongoing research into camel breed preservation and the medicinal properties of camel milk, aiming to ensure the species’ long-term survival.

Chief Minister Sharma also addressed the gathering, outlining his government’s achievements and emphasizing efforts to extend cooperative benefits to all. “We’re working to ensure every eligible person receives the benefits of both state and central schemes,” he said.

During the visit, Shah virtually inaugurated 24 food grain storage warehouses and 64 millet outlets. He also toured an exhibition showcasing cooperative products.

The event was attended by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Deputy Chief Ministers Prem Chand Bairwa and Diya Kumari, and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
