Jammu: In a continued crackdown on the terror ecosystem, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday attached the immovable property of a Pakistan-based terror handler in Kathua district.

According to a police spokesperson, 16.5 marlas of land owned by Mohd Ashraf, a resident of Lowang village in Bani tehsil, was attached following orders from the Additional Sessions Court in Kathua.

Ashraf, who became involved in terror activities over 20 years ago, later relocated across the border to Pakistan, the spokesperson said.

The property was seized under Section 85 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), as Ashraf has been absconding in a terror-related case registered at Bani Police Station in 2001. During the investigation, police confirmed the land belonged to the accused.
