JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the BJP on Tuesday celebrated the anniversary of the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A with events held across all districts of the Union Territory. The party said the move ushered in constitutional unity, equal rights, and dignity for all citizens in the region.
From urban centres to remote border villages, BJP workers organised public programmes, hoisted the national flag, led ‘Tiranga Yatras’, and held patriotic events to mark the historic step taken on August 5, 2019, by the Narendra Modi-led central government.
Speaking at a public gathering in Akhnoor, J&K BJP president Sat Sharma said the abrogation of the special provisions has ensured constitutional equality and restored the dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
