JAMMU: A total of 132 students from three new batches of Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, have successfully completed their summer internship at the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Bari Brahmana campus.

The internship programme was conducted in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which requires undergraduate students to complete a 60-hour internship. Designed to nurture entrepreneurial thinking, research aptitude, and collaborative skills, the 10-day programme exposed students to JKEDI’s core functions and initiatives.

Participants received hands-on exposure to entrepreneurship development, startup ecosystems, and self-employment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir. The schedule featured interactive lectures, assignments, field visits, and expert-led sessions by JKEDI faculty and industry professionals.

Students particularly appreciated the practical approach of the programme, highlighting sessions on government schemes, business model development, and startup financing.

The internship was coordinated by JKEDI’s experienced faculty under the overall supervision of the Institute’s Director. JKEDI regularly organises such programmes to foster entrepreneurial mindsets and promote self-employment as a sustainable career option.
