Jammu: A senior Army official on Thursday conducted a comprehensive review of the security situation in the twin mountainous districts of Doda and Kishtwar, assessing potential threats at key checkpoints across the region.
Lieutenant General P.K. Mishra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Army’s White Knight Corps, is currently touring various operational zones in the Jammu region to bolster troop preparedness ahead of Independence Day.
“GOC White Knight Corps, along with the GOC of Counter Insurgency Force (Delta), carried out an operational review in Doda and Kishtwar. He was briefed on the prevailing internal security scenario, threat perception, and troop deployment for counter-terrorism operations,” the Corps stated in a post on X.
The review emphasized sustained area domination, enhanced surveillance measures, and a well-coordinated, proactive approach to tackling emerging threats.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Corps Commander had also reviewed the security arrangements in the border district of Poonch, reaffirming the Army’s focus on operational dominance and a unified threat response to counter the enemy’s “nefarious designs.”
