New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu extended her warm greetings to citizens on the eve of Raksha Bandhan, emphasizing the festival’s significance in strengthening the commitment to uphold women’s rights and dignity.
In a message shared by the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President said, “Raksha Bandhan symbolizes the sacred bond of love and trust between brothers and sisters. It is a celebration that promotes harmony and unity within society.”
She further highlighted that the occasion serves as an opportunity to uphold India’s rich cultural traditions and moral values. “This festival reinforces our resolve to protect the rights of women and to ensure they are treated with respect,” she added.
Calling for collective action, President Murmu urged everyone to pledge to build a prosperous nation where every woman feels secure and empowered to contribute meaningfully to national development.
“On this auspicious occasion, I convey my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all fellow citizens in India and abroad,” she said.
