JAMMU: The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has launched a city-wide campaign to accelerate the repair and maintenance of street lights, aiming to enhance public safety and convenience by ensuring all areas remain well-lit.
To streamline the process, dedicated camps have been set up in every ward for residents to report malfunctioning street lights. Complaints can also be submitted via the JMC’s online portal.
Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav recently visited one such camp in the Gandhinagar ward, accompanied by former councillors. During the visit, he interacted with staff and residents and directed officials to address all complaints within 15 days.
Dr. Yadav encouraged citizens to take an active role by reporting issues either at the camps or through the digital platform. He emphasized that timely repairs are essential for both public safety and daily convenience.
The initiative integrates both on-ground and online complaint systems to ensure effective grievance redressal and the upkeep of the city’s lighting infrastructure.
