KASTIGARH: In celebration of the 79th Independence Day and the Viksit Bharat@2047 Campaign, Government Dy. SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College, Kastigarh, organized a variety of awareness-driven and creative activities centered on national unity, environmental sustainability, and promoting a drug-free lifestyle. Led by Principal Prof. Koushal Kumar Mangotra, the events saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff.
The festivities began with a Pledge Ceremony, where attendees vowed to uphold harmony, patriotism, and peace in society. This was followed by a Plantation Drive on campus, during which students and staff planted fast-growing saplings to emphasize environmental responsibility and the significance of a healthy ecosystem in fostering a thriving community.
To stimulate creativity and social awareness, the college hosted a Poster Making Competition themed “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India). Students expressed their artistic talents while delivering powerful messages against drug abuse, motivating their peers to stand against substance addiction.
Principal Mangotra praised the participants’ zeal, stating, “These initiatives not only honor the spirit of Independence but also instill in our youth the values of unity, sustainability, and social responsibility. Such programs are vital to shaping a progressive and drug-free India.”
The successful events were organized under the guidance of faculty members Dr. Sumit Kotwal, Prof. Sat Pal, Dr. Anupam Lata, and Dr. Arjun Singh. The college reiterated its dedication to conducting more such initiatives that blend patriotism, environmental stewardship, and social consciousness for the all-round development of youth.
