ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued a notice to the Punjab Government over appeals filed by jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, according to media reports.

Chief Justice Yahya Afridi questioned whether final observations could be made in a bail case and directed the prosecution to prepare on relevant legal points before the next hearing, set for 19 August.

Imran Khan’s lawyers, along with opposing counsel, have been instructed to assist the court on the identified legal matters. The Chief Justice clarified that the Supreme Court would avoid issuing any findings that might impact another ongoing case involving the PTI leader.

The court stated that, for now, only the prosecution would receive notice, and both sides should be ready with legal arguments at the next session.

Separately, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government responded to Imran Khan’s recent remarks regarding military operations in the tribal areas.
