ISLAMABAD/WASHINGTON: Pakistan and the United States have reiterated their commitment to eradicating terrorism in all its forms after holding bilateral talks on counter-terrorism cooperation.
In a joint statement issued by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, both nations stressed the need for an effective strategy to address threats from groups such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), ISIS-Khorasan, and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Samaa News reported.
The U.S. acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and successes in curbing terrorist activities and offered condolences for the recent loss of lives in incidents including the Jaffar Express bombing and the Khuzdar school bus attack.
Both sides agreed on the urgency of developing a joint approach to prevent the misuse of modern technology for terrorist purposes. The statement also underlined the need to strengthen institutional frameworks and boost capabilities for more effective counter-terrorism measures.
Pakistan and the United States further underscored the value of sustained, structured engagement to promote long-term peace and stability.
