Jammu: The body of a Pakistani intruder, killed by the Border Security Force (BSF) after attempting to cross into India, was handed over to the Pakistan Rangers on Wednesday, officials said.

The intruder was shot by the BSF two days ago in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district after he ignored repeated warnings and approached the border fence aggressively. He later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at AIIMS Jammu.

Pakistan Rangers identified the deceased as 51-year-old Siraj Ali, a resident of Sarhali village in Narowal district, and requested the return of his body following a protest lodged by the BSF.

After completing all formalities, Ali’s body was handed over to the Pakistan Rangers in the RS Pura sector of Jammu district at around 5 pm on Wednesday, officials said.
