Srinagar: Security forces on Wednesday recovered a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and narcotics from the forests of Kupwara district.
According to sources, a joint operation by the police and Army in the Allachizab Forest (Awoora Bowl) led to the seizure of one 9mm Chinese pistol, two 9mm pistol magazines, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, three AK-47 magazines, 260 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, four UBGL grenades, one IED/mine, five meters of mine wire, three Pakistani-made hand grenades, a PITO bag, a handbag with a Pakistani address in Urdu, two detonators, 30 mine fuses with wire, one electric device of unknown purpose, two battery connectors, and 16 sachets of brown sugar.
Officials said the recovery is part of ongoing counter-infiltration operations aimed at curbing militant activity and narco-terrorism in the region.
