Mumbai: Though Bollywood icon Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018, her legacy continues through her remarkable body of work and captivating presence. Known for her unparalleled talent and charm, she remains an enduring luminary in Indian cinema. On her birth anniversary, her daughter Khushi Kapoor paid a heartfelt tribute by sharing nostalgic pictures of them together.

Khushi took to Instagram Stories, posting a series of photos: the first captured her childhood with her mother, the second showed her alongside Sridevi and sister Janhvi Kapoor, and the third featured a loving hug with her mom.

Earlier, Sridevi’s husband and film producer Boney Kapoor also remembered her. Sharing a still from her film English Vinglish, he wrote that she remains “26” in his heart, adding, “Yes, you are not 62 today. You are 26. Happy birthday; we are still reliving all your happy birthdays.”

He also reminisced about a 1990 birthday party, recalling how he jokingly wished her “26” instead of her actual 27th to make her smile. Captioning the post, he wrote, “In 1990, at her birthday party in Chennai, I wished her a happy 26th birthday while she was actually 27, to make her feel younger—it was a compliment. She thought I was teasing her.”

Sridevi passed away in Dubai while attending a family function. She had married Boney Kapoor in 1996, and the couple was blessed with daughters Janhvi and Khushi.

Born Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in 1963, Sridevi was celebrated for her iconic roles in films such as Chandni, Lamhe, Mr. India, Chaalbaaz, Nagina, Sadma, and English Vinglish. A Padma Shri awardee, she made her mark in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema. Her final film, Mom, earned her a posthumous National Award for Best Actress.

Meanwhile, Khushi Kapoor made her screen debut in Nadaaniyan, starring Ibrahim Ali Khan, which premiered on Netflix on March 7. Directed by Shauna Gautam and produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra under Dharmatic Entertainment, the film is a heartfelt blend of romance, drama, and humor, featuring an impressive supporting cast including Mahima Chaudhary, Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, and Jugal Hansraj.
