New Delhi: Ladakh MP Mohmad Haneefa on Thursday emphasized that all communities and religious groups played a role in India’s freedom struggle, and that unity is essential for making India the world’s strongest nation.
Ahead of the 79th Independence Day, Haneefa paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country.
“I extend my greetings to everyone on the 79th Independence Day. Achieving this freedom was not easy; it came through the sacrifices of countless people,” Haneefa told reporters.
“Whenever there has been a war, our soldiers have laid down their lives at the borders. I salute all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation,” he added.
Hailing from Kargil in Ladakh, Haneefa said he grew up around soldiers and understands the challenges they face while guarding the nation’s borders. “I know the conditions in which our Army protects the borders. Coming from a border region like Kargil, I have spent my childhood amid soldiers who stay vigilant through snow, heat, and rain,” he said.
He urged citizens to remember the sacrifices behind India’s freedom. “People of all communities and religions have contributed to the nation. We must work together to safeguard the country’s unity and rise above narrow differences to make India the world’s strongest nation,” Haneefa said.
