BENGALURU: The Indian women’s cricket team wrapped up a 10-day preparatory camp at the BCCI Centre of Excellence here, focusing on strength and conditioning as well as match simulations ahead of the home ODI World Cup.
India, who have yet to claim a World Cup title, aim to end their ICC trophy drought when the 50-over tournament kicks off on September 30.
“The camp was designed to boost fitness, refine skills, and ready the squad for the challenges ahead,” the BCCI said in a social media post.
Ahead of the World Cup, India will face Australia in a three-match ODI series starting September 14, before opening their World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on September 30.
“We want to break that barrier that all Indians are waiting for. World Cups are always special, and we aim to do something special for our country. Seeing Yuvi bhaiya (Yuvraj Singh) always gives me a lot of motivation,” captain Harmanpreet Kaur said earlier this week during the ODI World Cup trophy unveiling ceremony.
