Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan marked the 79th Independence Day on Friday with a heartfelt musical tribute.

On Instagram, Salman shared a clip from his 2020 track Pyaar Karona, extending Independence Day wishes to his followers. In the video, he is seen singing the song with soulful expression, ending with a final greeting and a glimpse of the tricolour. “Happy Independence Day,” he captioned the post.

Originally released in April 2020, Pyaar Karona was created to inspire people during the COVID-19 pandemic. Salman co-wrote the lyrics with Hussain Dalal, while Sajid-Wajid composed the music and Abhiraj Minawala directed the video.

Independence Day 2025 also saw several other Bollywood stars share their tributes. Akshay Kumar honoured the “heroes” who keep beaches clean, Suniel Shetty delivered a strong message for the Armed Forces, and Hema Malini, Rajkummar Rao, Vikrant Massey, Arjun Rampal, Sara Ali Khan, and Ram Charan also joined in with greetings.

On the professional front, Salman was last seen in A.R. Murugadoss’s Sikandar, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Sathyaraj, Sanjay Kapoor, and Jatin Sarna. He is now preparing for Apoorva Lakhia’s war drama Battle of Galwan, where he plays an Indian Army officer. The film is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clashes between India and China, in which 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives.

In July, Salman unveiled his first look from the film through a powerful motion poster. Further details about the project are awaited.
