United Nations: UN Secretary-General António Guterres has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic loss of life caused by recent flash floods in India and Pakistan.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and reaffirmed the UN’s solidarity with all those affected by the disaster.
“The UN Country Teams stand ready to assist the Governments in providing necessary support,” said Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the Secretary-General, in a statement released on Sunday.
Reports indicate that hundreds have lost their lives, with many more still unaccounted for.
