Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Sunday approved the promotion of five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).
As per the official order, the promotions, sanctioned on the recommendations of the competent authorities, take effect immediately. The order was issued on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor.
Those elevated to the rank of SP include Owais Rashid (KPS125679), Sarfaraz Bashir Ganai (KPS125839), Gh Mustafa Bhat (KPS125740), Shahzada Kabir Mattoo (KPS125843), and Ashish Gupta (KPS125815).
The order further stated that the promotions will remain subject to the outcome of any pending writ petitions or other legal proceedings.
The sanction was issued by Principal Secretary to the Government, Chandraker Bharti.
