NEW DELHI: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the phone about his recent summit with US President Donald Trump aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. The conversation came three days after the high-profile Alaska summit, which concluded without a ceasefire agreement.
Following the call, Prime Minister Modi emphasized India’s consistent advocacy for a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine conflict and expressed support for all related efforts.
“Thank my friend, President Putin, for his phone call and for sharing insights on his recent meeting with President Trump in Alaska,” Modi wrote in a social media post. “India has consistently called for a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict and supports all efforts in this regard. I look forward to our continued exchanges in the days to come.”
