POONCH: In view of persistent rainfall and rising water levels, Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma, along with SSP Shafket Hussain Bhat and ACR Mohammad Sayeed, conducted an extensive inspection of flood-prone areas in the district to assess the situation and review preparedness measures.
The team visited SK Bridge, Mangnar Nallah, and the stretch from Porani Poonch to Betar Nallah, evaluating conditions on the ground and directing concerned departments to remain on high alert to ensure a timely response and effective relief in case of any emergency.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for continuous monitoring of vulnerable points and instructed officers to keep personnel and machinery ready to handle any eventuality. He also urged the public to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movement near rivers and Nallahs during heavy rainfall.
