SRINAGAR: A police head constable injured in a road accident at Akhnoor on Monday has died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ludhiana.
Officials identified the deceased as Head Constable Narender Singh, a resident of Shangro, Doda. He sustained injuries in an accident at Tanda (Zalabi Morh) in Akhnoor while returning home after availing casual leave.
The constable was initially admitted to GMC Jammu for treatment but was later referred to DMC Ludhiana due to the severity of his injuries. He succumbed to his injuries this afternoon, officials said.
At the time of the accident, Head Constable Narender Singh was posted at Police Station Sunderbani.
