New Delhi: Telecom operator Airtel experienced a network outage on Monday in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and several other regions, with users reporting difficulties in making calls and accessing mobile internet.
The company confirmed the disruption via a post on X after users flooded social media with complaints about widespread connectivity issues.
“We are currently experiencing a network outage. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue and restore services promptly. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. — Team Airtel,” read the message on Airtel Cares’ X handle.
The hashtag #AirtelDown quickly started trending on X and Instagram as users voiced their frustrations.
One X user wrote, “Airtel’s mobile network seems down. Unable to make any calls or use data services. Looks like a major outage today.” Another added, “Is Airtel network down in Delhi? For the past hour, I have been facing issues with both incoming and outgoing calls. @airtelindia”
Airtel has been actively responding to affected users. In response to one complaint, the company reiterated that its team is working to restore services.
The outage reportedly began around 3:30 pm. According to Downdetector, over 3,600 reports of Airtel service disruptions were logged by 4:30 pm. The platform tracks the status of online services and websites, providing real-time updates on outages and technical issues.
