New Delhi: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, during his opening remarks at talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday, announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon be visiting for the upcoming SCO Summit. He welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral relations, noting peace and stability along the border and crediting the leadership of both nations for progress since their discussions in Kazan last year.

“Our Prime Minister will be visiting for the SCO Summit shortly. Therefore, I believe these high-level talks hold special significance,” Doval said.

Marking 2025 as the 75th anniversary of India–China diplomatic ties, he said the milestone provides an opportunity for celebration. Reflecting on the last round of talks in Beijing, Doval expressed satisfaction at the improvement in ties over the past nine months. “Borders have been quiet, peace and tranquillity have prevailed, and our bilateral engagements have become more substantive,” he noted.

He credited the leadership in both countries for creating a new environment that has enabled forward movement in various areas of cooperation. Looking ahead to the 24th round of Special Representative-level talks in New Delhi, Doval voiced optimism about their success.

“With this renewed energy and momentum—supported by your personal efforts, the maturity of our diplomatic teams, and the responsibility shown by our armies at the borders—we have been able to make real progress,” he concluded.

The meeting between NSA Doval and Wang Yi was held at Hyderabad House in the capital.

Earlier, sources indicated that China has assured India of addressing three key concerns: access to rare earths, fertilisers, and tunnel boring machines. Wang Yi, who arrived in India on Monday for a two-day visit, had also held talks with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, reaffirming China’s commitment to resolving these issues.
