Fourteen people, including five police officers, have been booked for criminal breach of trust in Jammu

Jammu: Six separate cases of alleged fraud and criminal breach of trust have been registered by the Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police, involving 14 individuals, including five police officials, an official said.

An FIR was filed against Assistant In-Charge (CPPP Jammu) Shalinder Dogra, Head Constable Mohan Singh, and their associates Vijay Kumar and Sohan Lal for alleged criminal breach of trust following communication from police headquarters. Further details were not disclosed.

In another case, Vijay Khokher, proprietor of Messrs Mala Enterprises Auction Group—a chit fund-type company and also a police department follower—was accused of misappropriating Rs 34.25 lakh deposited by complainant Sanjeev Sharma from Bishnah, Jammu.

A separate FIR was lodged by Raj Kumar Mehra of Channi Himmat after he was defrauded of Rs 48.80 lakh by a woman on social media. Claiming to be a UK national, she allegedly pretended to be arrested at Mumbai airport and demanded money for her release. Accused individuals include Alka Joshi (Uttarakhand), Chandra Bhan and Subash Kumar (Uttar Pradesh), Vinod Mapsekar (Gujarat), and Rajesh Baliram Jadhav (Maharashtra).

Property dealer Dharamvir Sharma of Patoli, Jammu, was booked after two sisters, Sushma Devi and Savita Devi, claimed they were duped of Rs 24 lakh on the promise of plots at Nagbani, Jammu.

Vijay Gill and Haris Gill of Samba were also accused of defrauding Vishal Kumar of Rs 20 lakh with a false promise of a work visa.

Additionally, Ravinder Singh of Digiana Camp, Jammu, faced charges after five separate complaints alleging he took Rs 30 lakh under the pretext of arranging plots at Gadigarh, Jammu.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh, confirmed the registration of six separate cases at the Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu. Investigations into all cases are currently underway.
