SAMBA: Students of Government Degree College, Ramgarh, actively participated in the exhibition on Culture, Cuisine, and Heritage of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, organized by the Central University of Jammu in collaboration with Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh Prant. The event was held as part of the national seminar, “Transforming Education through Academic Leadership: Five Years of NEP 2020.”
First-semester students Janvi Bhagat, Meenakshi, Sohani Choudhary, and Manpreet Kaur showcased a vibrant stall dedicated to Dogri cuisine, featuring traditional dishes such as Saag, Moong Daal Halwa, and Kyur. Their efforts earned widespread appreciation from dignitaries and participants for both the authenticity of the flavors and the cultural significance of the dishes. The stall highlighted the richness of Dogra heritage while celebrating the culinary diversity of the Jammu region.
The students were guided by Dr. Snobar, Associate Professor, and Prof. Brahm Dutt, Assistant Professor, both of whom were honored with mementos in recognition of their mentorship. The participating students also received Certificates of Participation for their enthusiastic contributions.
College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol attended the programme and lauded the students for representing Dogri cultural heritage on such a prestigious platform. She encouraged them to continue engaging in academic and cultural events that strengthen cultural identity and advance the vision of the National Education Policy 2020.
