New Delhi: Six schools across Delhi received fresh bomb threats earlier today, prompting swift action from the Delhi Police and Fire Department.
The affected schools include Andhra Education Society Senior Secondary School (Prasad Nagar), BGS International Public School (Dwarka Sector 5), Rao Man Singh Senior Secondary School (Chhawla), Maxfort School (Dwarka Sector 1), and Indraprastha International School (Dwarka Sector 10).
Delhi Police and the Fire Department responded promptly, with visuals from BGS International Public School showing emergency personnel actively managing the situation.
Poonam Gupta, Principal of BGS International Public School, confirmed receiving the threat email early in the morning, which also contained a “threat of bloodshed.” She said, “I received a mail on the school Email ID with a bomb threat and threat of bloodshed. As a precaution, I immediately called the police. By 6:30 AM, the bomb squad and other officials were on site. No students were allowed inside the building.”
This comes after more than 50 schools in the National Capital Region received similar threat emails in the early hours of Wednesday, according to police officials.
Delhi Police reported that a group calling itself ‘Terrorisers 111’ sent emails to schools, including DAV Public School, Faith Academy, Doon Public School, and Sarvodhaya Vidyalaya, demanding USD 25,000. Previously, on August 18, the same group had demanded USD 5,000 in cryptocurrency following bomb threats.
The emails claimed that the group had “breached IT systems” and would detonate explosives within 48 hours at school premises. One email read:
“We are the Terrorisers 111 group. Explosives, including high-yield C4 bombs and timed charges, have been planted in classrooms, auditoriums, staff rooms, and school buses to cause maximum casualties. We have breached your IT systems, extracted student and staff data, and compromised all security cameras. Transfer 2000 USD to the Ethereum address within 48 hours, or the bombs will detonate.”
The email further warned: “Evacuate all schools and suspend operations immediately to avoid loss of life. Any attempt to contact authorities will trigger immediate detonation and release of sensitive data. Terrorisers 111 does not forgive or forget. Payment is your only option to prevent disaster.”
