A suspected drone sighting in the Gajansoo border area of Jammu district on Thursday triggered a search operation by security forces, officials said.
Locals reported the sighting to authorities, following which police and other security agencies immediately began a combing operation in the area.
A senior officer said it is still unclear whether the drone originated from the Indian side or crossed over from across the border. The matter is under investigation.
The International Border in Jammu is manned by the Border Security Force (BSF). Authorities remain on high alert as frequent drone activities in border areas continue to raise serious security concerns.
