Jammu: The Jammu Development Authority (JDA), led by Vice Chairman Rupesh Kumar in coordination with the District Administration, carried out a major anti-encroachment drive across key areas of Jammu district. The operation targeted unauthorized constructions and illegal occupations of JDA land, particularly in Sidhra, Majeen, and Rangoora of Tehsil Jammu Khas.
During the drive, authorities demolished over 20 illegal permanent and semi-permanent structures, including newly built houses and boundary walls raised without approval on JDA land. Rising encroachments in these areas had prompted swift and firm action.
In total, around 110 kanal of land was retrieved and restored to official possession. To safeguard the reclaimed land, the JDA has begun fencing the sites and installing warning signboards to deter future violations.
The operation was executed smoothly with strong support from the District Administration, ensuring coordinated action across multiple locations.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance on encroachments, the JDA cautioned that strict legal measures will be taken against violators. Citizens have been urged to avoid unauthorized constructions and to verify land ownership with proper approvals before undertaking any building activity.
The JDA emphasized its commitment to protecting public land and ensuring its lawful use for the benefit of society.
