JAMMU: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Jammu, Ajeet Sharma, conducted an extensive inspection of schools across Jammu district today to assess safety arrangements amid prevailing adverse weather conditions. He was accompanied by District Education Planning Officer B.D. Sharma, ZEO Jammu Rukhsana Kosar, and engineering staff from the PWD Engineering Wing, Jammu East.

The team visited several institutions, including SRML HSS Parade, GMHSS Mubarak Mandi, GHS Dogra Hall, GHS Kachi Chawani, and GMS Kachi Chawani, to evaluate safety measures and take immediate steps for the wellbeing of students and staff.

As a precaution, students of Pre-Primary, 9th, and 10th classes from GHS Dogra Hall were shifted to SRML HSS Parade, while students from Classes 1 to 8 were temporarily relocated to GMS Kachi Chawani. These arrangements were implemented to ensure uninterrupted learning despite weather-related disruptions.

The CEO noted that certain school buildings have been affected by the ongoing bad weather, prompting the department to provide alternative facilities for students in nearby schools. He also emphasized that strict instructions have been issued to Cluster Heads, Principals, and ZEOs to remain alert and implement all necessary safety measures.

“The primary objective of today’s visit was to assess damages, monitor school environments, and ensure that no child’s education is disrupted due to adverse weather,” the CEO said. He added that actionable recommendations have been issued to all school heads to further enhance safety and the overall functioning of schools.
