Srinagar,: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday ordered the dismissal of two government employees from Kupwara district in north Kashmir for their alleged links with the banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The employees have been identified as Khurshid Ahmed Rather, a teacher posted in Karnah, and Siyad Ahmad Khan, serving as Assistant Stockman in the Sheep Husbandry Department, Keran.

Officials said the action followed the collection of “incriminating material evidence” by law enforcement and intelligence agencies, confirming their direct connections with Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives.

A senior government official stated that the dismissals were carried out under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution of India, which allows the government to terminate employees without a formal inquiry if it is deemed necessary for state security.

In recent years, the administration has stepped up efforts against government employees suspected of militant links, with dozens dismissed since 2021 under similar provisions.
