LG Commends ICC’s Role in Promoting Trade and Industry in J&K
SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today met with members of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Srinagar, appreciating their efforts to advance trade, commerce, and industry in Jammu & Kashmir. He highlighted that the ICC members’ meeting in Srinagar will serve as a valuable platform for networking and collaboration among local businesses.
“India is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. For us, relationships are not transactional—they are rooted in compassion and brotherhood. Our unique cultural heritage and traditional values have strengthened our economy and established India as a great and powerful nation. By organizing this meeting in Srinagar, the Indian Chamber of Commerce has sent a strong message that no terrorist force can ever undermine India. This event stands as a statement against the enemies of our nation and will inspire industries in J&K to aim for greater goals,” the Lieutenant Governor said.





In his address, Shri Sinha also highlighted the investment opportunities, peace, and economic transformation taking place in the region over recent years.
“Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Jammu & Kashmir is witnessing an industrial revolution and has emerged as an attractive destination for investment. Historic milestones in road, air, and rail connectivity have extended the reach of industrial investment to every corner of the Union Territory,” he added.
The Lieutenant Governor lauded the Indian Chamber of Commerce for its pivotal role in policy advocacy, partnerships with the global business community, promoting a business-friendly environment, and enhancing India’s competitiveness on the global stage. He emphasized that the ICC is a critical pillar in India’s historic journey toward a Viksit Bharat 2047.
Shri Sinha also thanked business leaders and stakeholders for their contributions in attracting domestic and foreign investments and strengthening India’s economic stability. He assured industry players and potential investors of full support and guidance to explore profitable opportunities in J&K.
