AHMEDABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle, the e-Vitara, at the Hansalpur manufacturing plant in Gujarat. The Made-in-India e-Vitara is set to be exported to over 100 countries, including Japan.
During the visit, Modi also inaugurated a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility established by Suzuki in collaboration with Toshiba and Denso, aimed at boosting hybrid and electric vehicle battery production.
