Srinagar: A man lost his life after suffering critical head injuries in a hit-and-run incident near the old bus stand in Srinagar’s Batamaloo area, officials said on Thursday.
According to sources, the victim was riding a motorcycle (registration number JK01 AD 7021) when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle that sped away after the collision.
Local residents rushed him to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Farooq Ahmed Bhat, son of Sunaullah Bhat, a resident of Khawaja Pora, Nowgam, Srinagar.
Police have launched an investigation into the case. The driver of the vehicle remains unidentified, and further inquiries are underway, officials added.
