Mumbai: Bollywood was abuzz with festive cheer on Wednesday as celebrities gathered at Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani’s residence to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi.

The couple, who tied the knot in February last year, hosted a special puja at their Mumbai home, bringing together a mix of film stars and cricketers to seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings in a celebration that was both traditional and glamorous.

Ananya Panday was among the first arrivals, looking elegant in a long kurta with subtle golden embroidery and a scalloped border, paired with flowy white bottoms. She draped a matching dupatta over her shoulders and kept her look minimal with soft waves and simple juttis.

Ranbir Kapoor opted for understated elegance, donning a cream kurta with delicate patterns and white churidar pants, completed with matching footwear.

Adding a touch of Maharashtrian charm, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza turned heads together. Riteish wore a white kurta-pyjama with a deep red Nehru jacket, his long hair and beard adding a modern twist to the traditional ensemble. Genelia looked radiant in a rich silk saree in red and black with a golden border and a green blouse, accessorised with traditional jewellery and her warm smile.

Former cricketer Irfan Pathan also joined the festivities, donning an all-black traditional outfit and posing for photographers, bringing star power from the sports world to the gathering.

The Bhagnani family welcomed friends and posed for photos in traditional attire, radiating festive cheer.

Hosts Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani stole the spotlight with their coordinated festive ensembles. Rakul looked stunning in a bright pink lehenga with a heavily embroidered blouse featuring golden threadwork and stone embellishments, paired with a matching dupatta. She completed her regal look with a heavy choker necklace and bangles. Jackky complemented her in a vibrant pink kurta with intricate embroidery on the neckline, layered with a cream embroidered jacket and white dhoti-style pants.

The celebrations extended beyond their home. Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar shared glimpses of his Ganesh Chaturthi on social media, writing, “Festivals feel more special when celebrated together, as a family with tradition, and with love. Ganpati Bappa Morya,” as he performed the pooja with his family.

Bollywood actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha also shared moments with fans on Instagram. Jacqueline, welcoming ‘Bappa’ home for the first time, wrote, “May this new beginning be filled with blessings, love, and light. Ganpati Bappa Morya!” She could be seen performing the puja in a pink chiffon saree.

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated across India with great devotion. People bring home Lord Ganesh idols, observe fasts, prepare festive delicacies, and visit pandals, with lakhs of devotees gathering in temples and mandals to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
